    Hi,

    Endpoint protection installed fine and is currently running in the background, and Windows even recognizes it as an anti virus program. But whenever I launch it from the system tray, I get a message from Windows saying "This Program has compatibility issues."

    The download file I got from my institution is named Symantec_Endpoint-12.1.671.4971-UNMANAGED-64bit.exe

    I'm running Windows 8.1, 64 Bit.

    Any ideas on how to solve this problem? I'd appreciate the help.

    It is not supported version.

    12.1 RU4 MP1 is first supported version.

    For install the package on Window 8.1 client you can download the latest version 12.1 RU4 MP1b client package from file connect.

    Available client package on file connect, you can download 64 bit and install, it will be installed as unmanage.

    If you want to manage it from SEPM then replace the sylink

    Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_MP1b_Win32-bit_Client_EN.exe

    Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_MP1b_Win64-bit_Client_EN.exe

    SEPM 12.1.671.4971 is first version of SEPM 12.xIt's not supported windows 8/8.1.

    Windows 8.1/Server 2012 R2, the first version to support it is 12.1 RU4.

    You need to install the latest version of SEP. SEP 12.1 RU4MP1b is the latest version. Download it from fileconnect.

    Are you sure you are not thinking of RU4MP1b ? RU5 is only to be released 6th October 2014....

    Thanks a lot for the responses. Now my task is uninstalling this thing... so far Add or Remove Programs is uneffective, and same with Revo Uninstaller.
