Symantec Endpoint Protection blocking Fax

This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi,

 

So Recently i was updating SEP (12.1.1000.157 RU1), I use Quescom FSP to send and receive Fax over phone number and since the update it doesn't work.

But, when i disabled Auto-Protect for Internet Mail it work. And i don't understand i don't have error in logs file.

Hello,

Could you let me know if there is any port which Quescom FSP uses for send and receive Fax over phone number?

I was reading the Configure QuesCom Fax with Cisco CCM.pdf found on http://bit.ly/xhkpM6

 and it clearly states:

Watchout:

• Each user desktop must be able to reach directly QuesCom Gateway by IP through SMTP protocol

  • Verify that firewall in between doesn’t restrict it
  • Verify that desktop antivirus doesn’t restrict it

Could you try calling Technical Support of Quescom FSP and check?

Probably we could create an Exception:

Ok thank you for your fast answer.

So i read an another installation guide about quescom and it say that smtp quescom port is 31125 so in Auto-Protect internet mail i change SMTP port (default 25) by 31125 and i can send fax.

Hope that helps other users :)
