    Hi All,

I am now experiencing this issue "Symantec Endpoint Protection cannot open because some Symantec services are stopped. Restart the Symantec services, and then open Symantec Endpoint Protection", after the successful remote installation of SEP from SEPM to SEP client. SEP client is reporting in the SEPM server with the online condition,

the question is, how did I get this error but in the console it is online and healthy?

    Thank you in advanced..

    Regards,

    JM

So this is th error message showing on the SEP client?

What happens after a reboot and/or repair of the client via add/remove programs?

What's the exact SEP version and client OS?

    Any others like this?

Was it an upgrade from a perevious version or a fresh install?

Its a newly fresh install.. Is there something wrong with the SEP installer package or the way SEP install in the client machine?

Since the install appears to be successful you won't see anything in the SEP_INST.log or SIS_INST.log

I would run the symhelp tool on it to see if it can correct the issue:

How to download Symantec Help (SymHelp)

You can also enable SMC debugging per this article:

How to debug the Symantec Endpoint Protection client

Let it run for a bit to see what it shows in terms of errors.

Currently, I am now running the Symhelp tool with debugging option..

    Will keep you posted..

This issue occurs only if you do remote push? Local install works fine?

Remote push and manual installation show the same issue.

Reinstallation didn't help as I tried it for several times. I also used clean wipe for the uninstallation and reinstall SEP but have the same issue..

    Hello,

Kindly try to update your SEPM then re-create your install package. Uninstall your SEP then use the new install package on the client.

    Thank you very much..

The new SEPM server was not yet updated when we created the packages. After creating new SEP installer package and install it to the client, it works well now..
