Trying to install Symantenc Endpoint Protection 12 on RHEL 6.2 but SEP is not working.

Searched many articles on this forum but not so many information about SEP12 on Linux but found many SAV article.

"Symantec Endpoint Protection" equals to "Symantec AntiVirus"?

If yes, Symantenc Endpoint Protection 12 equals to which exact version of SAV?

I checked with the command "rpm -qi sav"  and got the following info.

    Version:1.0.14
    Release:13
    Source RPM:sav-1.0.14-13.src.rpm

"Symantenc Endpoint Protection 12" equals "Symantec AntiVirus 1.0.14 R13"?

As of now there is no SEP for Linux , its only SAV

When you download SEP 12.1.4 from Fileconnect ( CD1) and extract it you will find SAV folder, This SAV is  for Linux

You should be able to install without any issue, whats thhe error?

    Now it was solved.

Error was unable to boot SAV GUI and SAVTRAY with the error of "glibgcc".

Update yum and install the glibgcc and it fixed.

    Hi aetan,

A managed "SEP for Linux" client is currently on the roadmap for later on this year.  That will make it much easier to manage policies on the Linux machines, view the threats detected upon thm, and so on.  For the moment, though, SAVFL 10 is the best tool to defend that box.

If time allow, please do mark this thread as solved.  It is still listed as "needs solution."

    With thanks and best regards,

    Mick
