Hello,
When trying to uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection from a PC I get the Error:
Error 1404. Could not delete key
\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\AV. Verify that
you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
[Cancel] [Retry] [Ignore]
When I click "Retry" nothing happens, the message just reappears.
When I click "Ignore" 3 times it continues to uninstall the client.
Once finished, it appears to be removed out of the "Add/Remove" programs in the control panel.
I am uninstalling the product so that I can reinstall the product because it seems as if it is not pulling the correct exceptions we have set on our
Management console. I constantly receive e-mails from our management server saying "Commercial App Detected" (Which is set to ignore in the managment console).
This is the only computer out of 350 that I receive this e-mail on. All other seem to be following the policy set.
The client computer has Windows XP Professional SP3 installed on it. I was also logged in as an administrator when uninstalling.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
If you need any more info please let me know. Thanks in advance!
