I have a Management Console that is no longer functioning. Everytime i try to log in. It starts to log in and then goes back to the log in a screen. any ideas of what could be causing this. I have 2 other EP mgt servers and this server is the only one that has that issue.

    Thanks
    Jeff

    Hi,

It seems to be an issue with either the IUSR account or IIS. Check for the logs in the event viewer and let us know if there are any related to the same. In the meanwhile you can try the following as well however please do remember to take a proper backup of your database. (http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2007082112135948)

       Check the  IUSR account
The IUSR account should be a member of Guest groups.
       Check the
--> Properties of Symantec Web Server
        --> Directory Security tab
--> Edit under Authentication and Access Control
--> Add the IUSR account and password
Restart the IISAdmin services and SEPM Service.
Try to login to SEPM Console

In case this ddoes not help then after taking a proper backup as mentioned in  http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2007082112135948  and then reinstall IIS and SEPM.

    Hi,

    I have few Questions...

As you have stated... you are not able to Login to the SEPM. The Login fails without any errors...

    What OS are u using?

Could you Check the Application logs in the Event Viewer and stat what errors are being received.??

Check if the SEPM services are running in the Services.msc??

    Also check the Following KB...

Unable to Logon to Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager. Error: "Failed to connect to the server, Verify that server name and port are correct".

As Prachand suggested if computer name does not work then try to use the IP address as well & see if that helps:)
