    Hello,

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the sepm software and it continues to do the same thing. I cannot access the EPM, when I try the error is, "Failed to connect to the server. Make sure the server is running and your session has not timed out."

The service for embedded database is always on, but the epm service always stops. If I stop the embedded database service, the epm service will stay on fine. However then if I try to access the console it stops again. When I check the event log under apps there is an error that says, "The Java Virtual Machine has exited with a code of 1, the service is being stopped."

It has always worked fine until we upgraded to v11. I'm fairly sure the definitions are still being downloaded and distributed to computers on the network but I can't add any new because of it.

I'm going nuts here! Any thoughts on how I can fix this? I've read through many forums about this and still cannot get it to work.

    Thanks!

    Navigate to C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Tomcat\conf\server.xml

Change the default value for the port from 8005 to 8006. Save this file and start the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager service.

and then try to login to SEPM

I got the same problem, "It can not connect to the server"

But in my situation, B computer is in the second layer, it will connect to the A computer (allow to connect outside Internet to download the Liveupdate)

When I log in the SEMP on A computer, in the cilent group, B computer is in the group (so that's mean, I have connect to the A computer and the database)

But , when I want to log in the SEMP on B computer, is display "It can not connect to the server........................................"

Because I need outward the SEP component from B for the client group which below on B computer.

By the way, I am install the SEPM for rewrite and use the insite database not SQL server database, the same in the A computer.

And I have try to change the port from 8005 to 8006, but it's still the same.

And inside the Program Files \Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\logs,

    It have four data

    - install_log.err
-install_log.out ( say "Certificate is trusted")
    -smbinstall_log.err
    -smbinstall_log.out
    (say
    Has valid SAV license
Info>> No SNAC license file in C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\etc\license

Changing the tomcat port from 8005  to 8006 only helps when you are getting Java 1 error anx=d not java -1 error.
    Please paste the scm.server0.log

This fix did allow me to start and run the SEPM service and get into the manager. Thank you for your help. Now i'm playing with all the new features.
