Resetting the administrator password to admin

http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO18134

For Windows 2008, SBS 2003, 2008, 2011 server follow this method

Run the tool as Administrator

  1. Click Start, and then click All Programs
  2. Click Accessories
  3. Right-click Command Prompt and click Run as administrator
  4. When prompted, either click "Yes" or enter your administrator credentials if necessary.
  5. Navigate to the directory of the "resetpass.bat" tool using the cd command. (e.g. cd C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Tools)
    1. On a 32-bit system the default location is: C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Tools
    2. On a 64-bit system the default location is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Tools
  6. Type in resetpass.bat to run the tool

If you are running SEPM 12.1.1101 the resetpass.bat utility will not be available you need to give forget password option on SEPM Login page. It will send the temporary password to the Administrator Email.

Or

Call the Support team and get the resetpass.bat utility to reset the password

i aways get this msg after long time :

Password for admin admin has been reset to E05C5D83. Click the following link to activate this temporary password:
https://192.168.1.5:8443/servlet/PasswordServlet?mailid=1067CB11C0A801050151E135A8E85422
You must change the password after you log on to the console.

and when i click on it, thats what it show:

 Error

You must use the most recent link that you were sent to reset your password. If the link does not work, copy the link from the email and paste it into your browser address bar.

i copy i past it but still:

Error

You must use the most recent link that you were sent to reset your password. If the link does not work, copy the link from the email and paste it into your browser address bar.

Hello,

I would suggest you to create an Case with Symantec Technical Support asking for the "resetpass.bat" Tool, which would assist you in such cases.

OR

Incase if you already have the old resetpass.bat tool, then you may use it which would assit you as well.

To create a Case, check these -
