What sep version are you using ?

The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) service does not stay started after installing FileMaker Server 11 on the same server.

Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

I would be glad to answer your query.

Switch IIS to 64 bit mode

  1. Open IIS > Application Pool and look for Default App Pool.
  2. Right click on DefaultApp Pool and choose Advanced Settings...
  3. Change the “Enable 32-bit Applications” to False.

This article is more suitable to your environment.

Hello Chethan,

Observed that Symantec is not using IIS and still service is stopping automatically. Is there no other way to fix the issue other than upgrade new version??

Sayoungistan's picture

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

  1. Go to the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager install location (By default it is at "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager")
  2. Right click on the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager folder and select Properties, click on the Security Tab, add Authenticated Users and Allow Read and Write Permissions. Click OK.
  3. Above step may prove insufficient (confirmed in IIS 7). In this case Right click on the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager folder and select Properties, click on the Security Tab, addEveryone and Allow Read/Write or Full Control permissions. Click OK.
  4. Restart the IIS Admin service
    1. Go to Start Run > Type IISRESET
    2. Click OK.
  5. Start the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager service
    1. Go to Start > Run > Type Services.msc
    2. Right Click on Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Service and select Start.

Hello,

Attach scm-server-0.log and catalina.out file.

Both the files will be available under tomcat\logs folder.
