Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.40.14
Where to find the option in Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager which will allow a machine with the managed client, but not registered in the Domain to be updated through the server?
Neiyher F1 nor FAQ doesn't help.

I'm not sure I'm reading the question correctly, but the SEPM manager could care less if the clients are joined to a domain or not and they'll get definition updates just fine, as long as they were set to point to the server.
Are you talking about upgrading the client software? That can still be done by addition the packages to the SEPM groups that the machine is in.
If you're talking about pushing the update to the client out for the first time via SEPM, this could be difficult without a domain unless you knew the username and password of a local admin account on each machine.

Till your SEPM manager can
Till your SEPM manager can ping the client and can resolve its name you can install SEP on it and it will be managed by SEPM and will receive policy and definition updates . No matter if it in a workgroup, other domain or stand alone.

The client which is installed
The client which is installed as managed will be present in SEPM console
you can see those clients under clients tab
you can select the groups in client tab and here in right side if you select client tab you can see the clients.....

I think you are confused with AD domain and SEPM domain
Both are different
