We are adding the new server to coexist with old server,

New Server will be primary and old server with secondary endpoint manager.

anyone know the step on migration?

i) Install new server as secondary endpoint manager, then,

ii) Promote new server as primary endpoint manager, then,

iii) Demote old server as secondary endpoint manager ?

How am i going to do this kind of setting in the symantec? please provide the step.

Yes

This is the closest document I found but you need to do some modifications

How do I move Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager from one server to another with a different IP address and host name?

Just ignore the last step.of removing the OLD SEPM Server.

 will this work? how to

will this work? how to modify the setting in this 2 server?

First Install the replication partner

Yes this can be done

After following the document & installing the replication partner.

You need set prioroty under the management server list for that you can go to the Policy tab on your old server & go to policy component.
Under that you can add a new MSL & give the priority of your new server a one & the priority of your old server as two.

I think this should resolve your issue

Yes it will

Solution

Yes this will work...
which settings are you talking about ?
For Management Server List --SEPM -Policy-Policy Component- Management Server List -ADD

Rest on how to install it as replication partner you can follow the doc given above.

Yes I agreed to Vikram and

Yes I agreed to Vikram and kavish, actually I already tested that set up and it successfully working by now in our environment, but make sure you install the latest version of SEPM

:-)

ryangiam's picture

 which version you are

 which version you are install?

Vikram Kumar-SAV to SEP's picture

The latest

The latest version is MR4MP2  i.e. 11.0.4202.xx/ First upgrade your existing server ot this version then install the new server with this version.
The important thing is both the SEPM versions should be the same..Clients version does not matter in this case.

I guess if you install MR4MP1

I guess if you install MR4MP1 there is an issue in replication you might have a trouble, in this case the issue has been resolve by MR4MP2, so I suggest you need to install the latest version.

Regards.
