  • 1.  Symantec Endpoint Protection Not Working

    So my computer recently crashed and when it did system recovery, it resulted in multiple files from my antivirus to malfuction. Attached is an image of what the errors are. Tried installing the Symantec Helper tool, but even after it gave me the results, I had no clue what to do. Tried live update, but still didn't fix any of the issues. Don't know how to fix it at this point...

    What is the exact 12.1 version and OS?

    Have you tried running a repair via add/remove programs?

    What were the results of symhelp? Can you re-run and post the info/log?

    Looks like bad/corrupt definitions. You can manually remove:

    Troubleshoot corrupt definitions in Endpoint Protection

    Personally, I would try to run a repair on the client. If that doesn't work, go ahead an re-install. It will be quicker.

    I've tried all of the following things but no success. I guess the program is corrupted to the point where it won't even successfuly remove the program. I tried some program remover tools but no help....

    You'll need cleanwipe. You can contact support or if you have access to a 12.1.5 install, it is in the Tools directory.

    I finally fixed it. Had to do do PC refresh. It wiped out all my programs, but at least my files are all there still so all I have to do is just re-install the programs. Thanks for the help though :)
