    Hi,

I have a Symantec EndPoint Protection (Small Business) 12.0.1001.95 on a server.

I have Windows 7 clients who are installing the Endpoint Protection client 12.0.1001.95 successfully. I have now new windows 8.1 clients and I think that they are not compatible with symantec endpoint protection 12.0.1001.95.

Am I right or do I have to install the Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_SBE_12.1.4 on the server to make Windows 8.1 clients work?

    Thanks & Regards.

Yes you can upgrade your SEPM version

Upgrading or migrating to Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.4 (RU4)

Ideally you want to upgrade to maintain consistency but if you can't at the moment just import the 12.1.4 package. This link will walk you thru how:

How to manually import client packages into Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM)

Yes, your current version is not supported for window 8

12.1 ru2 is first version which support for window 8.

you can upgrade in 12.1 ru4 because it is latest one.

Hi I did the update successfully.

It seems that its gone well. The only thing is that under Admin it doesnt show the tab: Install Packages.

I was thinking of giving a repair to SEPM.

    Any ideas?

    Regards,

    Adrian

Hope you are full admin for the SEPM console. That tab should be visible...

Anyways you can give a try by doing repair..

    1) A repair did not solve anything.

    2) Yes my account is listed under Administrators

    3) Could it be that this is the small business edition?

    Thanks
