Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12.0 installation best practices needed

chicojrman's picture

I'm going to be coming off a Trend Micro environment and installing Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12.0 for about 6 servers and 130 clients. In SEP 11 I followed this document http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security....
Question is that is there any tech white paper for setting up the client install and a separate one for the server install?

Thanks,

No much difference

Hi,

There is no difference between client install or server install.
its all depends on the package (components you whish to install) to be installed on clients / server
clients are installed to a group and policies are applied to groups
You may have all the components installed on client machine( AV and AS, PTP, NTP)
However NTP will not work on server os ( 32 and 64)

Hope this link helps

Rafeeq - I think you mean PTP

Rafeeq - I think yo u mean to say that PTP will not be enabled on Server OS. NTP (Network Threat Protection) which is mainly Firewall and Intrusion Prevention will work for Client and SErver OS.

chicojrman - let us know if you need any additional help in moving to SEP SBE 12.0. We are online on the forum to help. What current product are you using at the moment?
