    Hi guys,

Currently my environment are running SEPM version 11.0.6 but with this version it will not support Windows Server 2012. I need an advise and feedback, if I use a SEP v12.1 to install to the Windows Server 2012 and connect it to the current SEPM, will it work?

    Thanks guys.

It will report but its not recommended

12.X sepm can manage 11.X clients and not vice versa..

For the time being you can install SEP as unamnged on your server 2012, once your sepm is ugraded to 12.1.4 you can drop sylink and get it connected to 12.1.4 server,

    Installing as unmanged

    Hi James,

Thanks for the reply. So far there is no planning for upgrading the SEPM to version 12.1

    for your Information

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

    Check this landing page:

Release Notes and System Requirements for all versions of Symantec Endpoint Protection and Symantec Network Access Control.

I would recommend to upgrade SEPM as well instead of only clients. However time being workaround can be install of unmanaged clients.

Is there any specific reason to avoid SEPM upgrade?

    Hi Chetan,

I think for the time being we will install of unmanaged client to all Windows Server 2012 machines. Actually this is my client environment. I have no idea why they dont want to upgrade yet. But I heard they gonna have a Tech Refresh for 2014. I will highlight this matter to them.

    Thanks
