Symantec Endpoint protection unable to scan cab files

    Symantec Endpoint protection version 11.6.6200 was unbale to detect virus in cab file that other 3rd party free AntVirus Programs do not have this limitation . Would like to see this issue resoved in future MR"s?

     

    Here is the findings from recent unreolved issue described above

    Please find the findings below

     

    * Manual scan set to appropriate layers deep should detect file

    *normal CAB should be able to open as ZIP

    * However Customers note on submisison says a special program is needed to decompose the .CAB

    * Hence symantec would not detect the file
