  • 1.  Symantec Endpoint Protection version cross reference

    There are links in the Symantec knowledgebase to SEP version cross references in Excel format. TECH91654 for example. Clicking on the link gives this:

  • There is no article associated with this URL. Try searching our Knowledge Base.

  • The article is protected and requires you to be signed into an authorized account to read it. Sign In with your SymAccount

    • I signed in with my SymAccount and got the same thing. Does anyone have a list of all the versions and builds cross referenced to the MP# and MR# and etc.

    I'm getting the same message when trying to get to that link.

    You can check the old release notes, but the ones I found only go back to MR4 MP2. I'll keep looking though.

    The SEP Release Notes document also has version numbers listed.

    The document you reference, TECH91654, is not marked as a public-facing document.  In which article did you see a reference to this document?

    sandra.g: If you search the Symantec knowledgebase for "SEP version list", TECH91654 is the second hit in the list.

    rafeeq: thanks for the list. It is missing RU5 but I got RU5 from the release notes like sandra.g suggested.

    The knowledgebase used to have a spreadsheet that cross referenced the SEP neumonic name (like RU6 MP1) and the version/build number, release date, and SEPM version.

    I did the search as you suggested via this page, and do see the document to which you referred is in fact on the list.  It should not be turning up on the web search results.  I will be forwarding this information to our KB team for investigation.

    Another document that initially returned with "The URL you've tried isn't returning content.", http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH105816 (Title: "Symantec Endpoint Protection Client and Manager Version List") is a public-facing document, and does now display.  This is not as detailed as the information given in the Release Notes document linked below.

    In digging into the internal document's notes, I see that the XLS file was compiled from data from these three documents:

    1. http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH103087 - Release notes for Endpoint Protection and Network Access Control 11
    2. http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH101820 - Release notes for Symantec Client Security 3.1.x and Symantec AntiVirus 10.1.x
    3. http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH102297 - Release notes for Symantec AntiVirus 10.2 Client for Vista and Windows Server 2008

     

    Frankly, the information in these documents will be more dynamic than an Excel spreadsheet.

    I can't find any reference to an Excel document with this information that was public facing, so if you have information as to where you had gotten that document in the first place (i.e., a KB article number, a URL) I'll be happy to follow up on it.

    I hope this helps clarify things.

    By the way, the reason that internal document was coming up on the list for a search is that a portion of it was set erroneously to public view.  That has been corrected.
