Created: 27 Jul 2009 | 8 comments
Tried to install Symantec Endpoint V 11 on a Windows 2003 SP1 Server last night recieved error message "the trial you are trying to install has expired”. Downloaded a fresh copy, same thing. We would like to purchase and use this product, is there something wrong with the trial version?

Check the version that you are downloading.
Each version of the trialware is set to expire on a specific date.
It is possible to download an older trialware that was set to expire in March for example and no matter when you download and install the package it will have already expired.
Endpoint Trial Version
It was downloaded from the Symantec site last night so it should be latest version with expiry date of 31st Oct. Never been installed before. ?? Can you provide us with a link that works?
Also
Also incase if you had ionstalled it earlier and then uninstalled it it would do the same.
If you go to this link below
If you go to this link below and click on "Endpoint Protection" under "Trialware", it will take you to a version that be active until October 31, 2009 afterwhich it will expire. On this same page, there is a link named "Visit the Symantec Business Store".

You mentioned that your intention was to purchase the product. If you install the Trialware version of the product you will NOT be able to upgrade to the licensed version of the product as mentioned on the same page as for the Trialware download. You would need to uninstall the Trialware version and then install the licensed version of the product.
"Trial version will expire on October 31, 2009 and cannot be migrated to fully licensed software"
Dont install the Trialware in you production nwtwork
Remember if you install the trialware thne there is no way to chnage it into a licensed version. You will have to uninstall the software & reinstall it. because Trial ware is for testing purpose hence please dont install the Trialware in you actuall production network.
I'd a similar issue, found
I'd a similar issue, found that my computer date was zonked to 5 months ahead. I reset that and installed SEP again.
Also, chances are that the package you downloaded was most probably not updated to reflect the new expiry date. I'd go y what jeremy has said and check the expiry date / month of the download.
