This issue has been solved. See solution.
We have noticed the issue while assiging the plugin installation using group policy. Even though there are no erros displayed on the client the Outlook-Add-In installation is not happening on the clients. We followed the same process mentioned in the below technote

Can someone throw some light to this. We did face an issue while installing the Outlook Add-in manually which we sorted by downloading the latest client from the Symantec site. We did assign the package installation on the computer configuratin- software installation policy still does not work.
Appreciate quick response.
Regards,
Pramod.

have you seen this follow-up article?
Deployment of the Enterprise Vault Outlook Add-ons /extensions via an automated deployment method may require End User interaction.

Yes, We did come across the above article, it was no help. We did even try as a domain admin privileges as well. It's not working. Please note that it's the latest EV 10.0.1 client not the previous versions as in the article.
you're using the Symantec Enterprise Vault Outlook Add-in-en.msi, not the setup.exe, right?

Yes, we are using the msi file only not the setup.exe file.
If you manualy run:
msiexec /i nameofevclient.msi /qn
Does it run perfectly ?
What EV version are we talking about ?
