  • 1.  Symantec Epm 11.0.2000 : adding the additional site problem

    Dear All,

    I am using the Symantec Endpoing Protection manager 11.0.2000 , and i want to move the server to another server with diffent IP  Diffrent name , i get the one of the artical of the symantec that show how to add the aditional site & that move on to new site & delete the old one after moving all policy & database,

    i am doing all stem by step, after install the same version EPPM opn the another mactine done, that itry to add the aditional site with the emabded database , but when it goes to syncronize the database , but fail with the error 'Unable to connect the specified server' , i can reach to that old server , both are in same LAN

     

    Please suggest

    is it in the same LAN?

    is the firewall open between these SEPM's?

    i hope you are adding as a replication partner, if yes open 8443 port.

    yes, it is on the same LAN,

    there is no firewall open in any server,

    actully when i try to run the replication it is taking time like 10 min. or so than my current server EPM stop working , when i check the serviece , i found that the "Endpoint Protection manager service" stop working

    can you post te scm-server-0.log?

    also may you try repairing the SEPM.

    Are you upgrading to a new version? 11.0.2 was a really old version, one of the first for SEP 11.x.

    What version are you going to?

    1st i am moving the server , that need the same version that i have, so that i install that 11.0.2 , after moving to new one i will upgrade to 12

    the log can be found under tomcat\logs\ of the SEPM server.

    Hello,

    On a kind note: You are running a very old version of SEP 11.0.2000

    SEP 11.0.2000 was released in Apr 2008.

    Check this Article:

    The Latest version of SEP 11.x is SEP 11.0.7300. 

    It is important to maintain consistence of software version throughout SEP 11.x, check this Article below:

    i done that same result, do i need to stop the serviece Symantec endpoint managment server for both Server or only New server ??

    The connection failure may be occuring due to mismatched certificates between the two servers - please have a look:

    ...can you also try to telnet on both server for port 8443? - that is the port used in 11.x for replication between two sepms
