    To all,

Is there anyway to avoid browser lockups and lockouts while navigating to Facebook when you have Symantec Endpoint Protection running, using Google Chrome or Internet Explorer?

While Symantec Endpoint is running, if I log into Facebook using IE or Chrome, Chrome will eventually become unresponsive and Internet Explorer will popup a warning that prevents further browsing.

This only occurs, in conjunction with, Symantec Endpoint Protection and Facebook chat.

Is there a work-around to this issue?

    Thanks,

    Jeffro

I'm not saying this to promote anything but you could use an external program such as Digsby (www.digsby.com) to do facebook chat, along with any other chat you would like.

To me it sounds like it may just be an issue with your setup, or your system. Often I've seen issues similar to your that seem to be in corrilation to the anti-virus or firewall program on the computer, but it ends up being something completely different causing the issue. SQL Server services are often the culprit. It's hard to say sometimes.

I have no issue with two laptops and a desktop using anything you mentioned, and all run SEP MR4 MP1 or RU5.  Oh and all run NTP with IPS and the firewall fully enabled.
