  • 1.  Symantec Ghost 7.5 trying to image Windows 7

    I'm using Symantec Ghost 7.5 and I made an image of Windows 7. This is a Dell Optiplex 780. The error comes up: No bootable 9x or NT installations detected on this machine when I try to used ghstwalk.exe. Any help on this please?

    Hi,

    You can not create Windows 7 image with the verion of ghost you mentioned. You need to purchase GSS 2.5.1 build 2266 to image Windows 7 operating system.

    Isn't 7.5 a version of Norton Ghost rather than Ghost Solution Suite?

    Before Symantec Ghost was a suite it was offered as stand alone.  This was done upto version 8.1 of the executables.  At executable version 8.2 it became marketed as Ghost Solution Suite 1.0.   

    Then 9 and 10 were marketed as Norton ghost and the transition to what is now BESR code was started.
