I had a hdd crash, reinstalled new drive and wanted to install my backup recovery disks.  Got to a problem on cdrom 5 of 15.  Error message reads decomposition problem abort?  I say no and then I get disk corruption use integrity checker for image.  I see at the top of the Ghost screen that it says Symantec Ghost 8.2. I hope I am in the right location.  I finally had to reinstall Win XP PRo SP2 from the sys recovery disks that came with this ACer travelmate 8104wlmi.  The original drive from which I created the latest backup recovery image files (on 15 CD's) is a dead drive and no longer works.  The only available image of my drive is on these 15 CD's. Although I was then forced to reinstalled from the manufacturor factory reinstall disks included with this laptop, there are many things missing from this computer including Acer E recovery when I boot to windows and try to run it.   I poked around knowledge base and think I had Ghost suite 1.0 but am very unsure.  I know it is no longer visible to me on this frail and basic Win xp reinstall.  When I try to run the 15 CDs   I get to CD 5 and get Decompression error.  Then I get message corrupted file run integrity checker on image file.  I tried to research at knowledge base and am really quessing here that the partition of the new drive is the problem with the large image span across the CDs.  I can not run Ghost.exe because all acer erecovery utilities have gone bye bye with this emergency reinstall of XP.  Before I tried to install the 15 CD images I was sure to delete any partitions from HDD and I made sure boot from CD as first choice in Bios.  ITstarted up just fine but each attempt was stalled at cd 5. Can you help or direct me to who might know where I need to start?  I searched for anything on my computer with  ghost.exe and found nothing in the hopes of running an integrity checker.

It looks like your image file is corrupted.
ghost.exe itself has the image integrity check built in.
Did you checked the integrity of CDs when you created them?
or maybe simply it is the bad CD which your optical drive can't read it.

I don't think there is a way to recover when one of the span is corrupted. :(
