For security reasons, I disabled the Default VLAN put the HP Procurve switch on another VLAN with a VLAN ID of 20.  I also tagged all the ports and entered a VLANID of 20 for all hosts.  When I boot a client from the Ghost CD to restore an image, I cannot connect to the DHCP Server.  If I untag the port, the client can now find the DHCP Server and resore an image, but that port can't be used for clients because the port is now untagged. Is there a way to leave all ports tagged with a VLANID of 20 and still connect to the DHCP server and restore an image.  The entire switch is on one VLAN and one IP subnet as well as all hosts.  The switch is a HP Procurve 4208.  The DHCP server is Windows 2003 and the clients are Windows XP.  The application is Symantec Ghost Solution Suite 2.5

Ghost has no difficulties to operate in or over VLANs.
Settings like spanning-tree; IGMP..... needs to be prepared correctly for that VLANs so that GHOST could operate.
For more information on configuring your VLAN, consult your VLAN documentation or contact the network equipment vendor.

The Ghost boot CD will work fine over the VLAN but I have to untag the port which means that port will not work for clients because they are tagged with a VLAN of 20.  I tried using IGMP using HP's documentation for model 4200vl. This particular switch does not support IGMP PIM-DM or IGMP PIM-SM.  The only IGMP options are Forward with High Priority or Auto/Blocked/Forward.  I have tried all these options with the port tagged with no success.  The switch can act as a Querier.

No IGMP support is a handicap indeed.
However, the issue here is the fact that the DHCP could not be reached even if the client has been booted from CD. Unfortunately these circumstances are related to your network environment Ghost will use and are not created by Ghost itself. You should ask HP Support for best practice of the switch configuration. They may be able to tell how you could setup the switch to support your needs.
