    Does anyone (Symantec Tech Support did not) know if you can use this product to image, resize restore the image on a Windows Server 2003 that is a domain controller?  I do not need to hot image, I just need to create 3 drive images, resize the partitions and then restore the images to the new sized partition.

    Hello,

    Ghost cannot clone Domain Controllers. Symantec does not currently offer a way of cloning Domain Controllers. Microsoft secures Domain Controllers by locking them to a disk signature. Since Domain Controllers would have new disk signatures, the clones would be useless and you could not log in or use them at all.

    Solution


    If you need to back up a Domain Controller, use the software Backup Exec System Recovery. More information about Symantec's backup software is available at http://www.symantec.com/business/products/category.jsp?pcid=2244
