Symantec Installation Manager
When will this crappy piece of alpha level software get to a point where you can rely on it 24/7.
It is now 18:25 european time, and I have been trying all day to download ServerManagementSuite 7 without any luck.
( A file not found error has occourred while trying download or copy

I have a demo at a customer site tomorrow, but then again I could demo MS SCOM and WSUS4 instead :-(
SIM Is not working in Texas either
Same error from 2 different servers. Symantec needs to rethink SIM as the single point of installation if their download site is not reliable.

are you using the same download URL? IF so, that may be the problem.. looking carefully, the download URL in the orginal post says - qa and rc1. The suite is at SP1 right now, and so that link may no longer be valid. Make sure you're using the default setting in the SIM.

I am using the default symantec.pl.xml. It connects to the site but then says file (any product) is not found. Have you tried it?
I added a solution yesterday
with no issues. So, no I haven't tried it today. I wanted to check to see what URL you were using.

I installed a CMS7 server
I installed a CMS7 server three days ago with no problems. Trying to install SMS7 on top of this , gets the same error as on the new SMS7 installed today....
so I guess it must be something in the Symantec end.
Spoke with a Sym Tech
They are looking into it. Appears to be internal like we thought.

In the SIM boat
I have a deployment out of town today.....time is of the essence here, and solutionsam.com takes french leave. Nice job someone. ....Did I fail to mention that I already called this, and they pointed me to the OLD Altiris helpdesk, which gave me the 6.5 download link. Humorously, it worked last week!
