  • 1.  Symantec Installation Manager Setup Error

    I am trying to run the installation manager setup on a brand new server and I get the following error:

    Symantec Installation Manager Setup Wizard ended prematurely because of an error. Your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, run Setup Wizard again.

     

    Any help is appreciated.

    Check the SIM logs:
    C:\Program Files\Altiris\Symantec Installation Manager, I think in the 'Logs' folder

    This turned out to be an incompatibility issue with the OS - thought I had R2 loaded on new server but it was not.  Running an upgrade fixed the problem.
