  • 1.  Symantec Installation Manager Stuck in Infinite Loop

    I've been trying for a couple of days to install teh IT Management Suite using SIM, however, whenever I load SIM, the "Install new products" option is greyed out.  The only option is "Create installation package", which I have done several times.  Running the zip file this process creates appears to install something, but when it's done, it just reloads SIM with the same effect.  I've tried disabling the McAfee products running on my workstation (we're in the early stages of moving to Symantec), renaming files, editing the registry, etc, as outlined in other articles in the forums but nothing changes.

    Any advice is appreciate, thanks.

    If you only get the "Create installation package" option in SIM it's usually because you have installed SIM on an Operating System that isn't supported to install any products on. You need to have R2 of Server 2008.
