  • 1.  Symantec LiveUpdate Administrator - liveupdate definition download failed

    I have installed Symantec LiveUpdate Administrator 2.2.2.9 version.
    Connection with the Symantec LiveUpdate servers through a proxy server.
    Tested and works ...

    I'm downloading updates (automatic / manual) and it is done to 100%, then it is save the updates to the repository and then shows the status of "Failed".
    In the logs I found a message:

    2011-06-07 08:46:51,122 [http-7070-Processor24] INFO  com.symantec.lua.handler.download.ContentCatalogHandler  - Value of allConnectionFailed after validating - > false

    In essence, updates are downloaded, but the subsequent check fails ...
    I assume this is some port that is blocked by the FW ... but I do not know which one.
    I have open following ports:

    Name

    LUA 2.2 Port number

    Tomcat

    7070

    Tomcat shutdown

    7071

    PostgreSQL Database

    7072

    I used wireshark to check network traffic and there is nothing unusual.

    But what I see is that updates are downloaded to selected folder.

    Main is D:\TempDownload

    I can see that disk size is getting lower in downloading proccess. When updates are saving (Request Status: Saving) and then goes to status failed, exact size of downloading updates are free from disk.

    for understanding:

    - downloading updates are 2GB for example...

    - D drive has 20 GB free

    - when dowloading is in progress I can see actual free size 18GB...

    - when saving status goes to failed, then disk size is back on 20GB...

    Is anybody have same experiences?
