hi everyone.I'm using symantec liveupdate administrator for managing updates of my symantec/norton products and it's catalogue has almost every product i want, except symantec endpoint 12(small business edition). and updating the catalogue doesn't change anything.I want to ask if its possible to add small business to the product list of liveupdate administrator or not? if not, is there any other ways to do it? thanks

As far as I know that product cannot be added to LU Administrator. I would post the idea in the "Ideas" section of the community. Developers look there for possible new features and modifications when making new releases of the products.

Our FAQ for SEPSBE reflects the following:

Can an internal LUA server be configured to provide definitions to the SPC?
No. SPC can only receive updates from Symantec's LiveUpdate servers.

If you would like to review the entire FAQ you may follow this URL:

thanks kurt. but the FAQ seems to be outdated cause my LUA v2.2.2 does the job.its product catalogue has SPC on its list and is able to download definitions to symantec protection center multilingual.it seems Small business edition is the only thing missing on the list..

SEP 12 SBE was never intended for an audience that would use something like the Liveupdate Administrator. It is really meant for small business with limited IT resources and experience.

I agree with you Thomas about SEP 12 Audience but that cant be the reason.because if what you said was true, "norton" products would have never been added to LUA Product Catalogue list, whereas "Norton Antivirus for macintosh" IS in the list. and no one expects a norton user to be THAT experienced to use LUA,right? so I think symantec has just made a selective choice over its products to be added to symantec LUA.That mught sound a liitle harsh but I cant think of any other reason. e.g I really dont understand why updates of the MAC version of norton can be managed by LUA whereas the windows version cannnot be?

You make good points. As I said before, post this in the "Ideas" section, and I will add my vote to have SEP 12 added to the LU administrator.

    Cheers,
