  • 1.  Symantec Mail Security: message "Please give a smaller interval value"

    hi,
    I receive every 5 minutes the following message:

    "Please give a smaller interval value"
    I restarted my server scanner and now no longer receiving any message.
    knows someone tell me what it is?

     

    my versione sofware: Brightmail Symantec Mail Security 7.6.1-7

    Hello Alessandro,

     

    With the version you are running there was an issue where when the uptime of the server reached a certain threshold you would start to see this error. The workaround for this would be to reboot the appliance, which you have already done. So the issue should be resolved.

     

    I would suggest that you get to the latest build of the Symantec Brightmail Gateway when possible.

    I have the same error in my appliance, as I modify the time interval or reinitiating it stops it presenting/displaying this error.

     I have installed the version: 7.6.1-7

    As Tom advised, you should move to the 7.7 version.

    I'm sorry, I don't believe that there is publicly available documentation for this issue.

    Friendly.
     I can hope until the month of January, to update my appliance or this error is critical. That recommendations can offer me.
     Since my client podra not to realise the update at the moment.
