  • 1.  Symantec management Agent not running

    When I try to click AeXAgentActivate.exe from C:\program files\altiris\altiris agent, and I get the error message say

    "AeXClientActivate , please ensure the Altiris Agent service is running before attempty to activate the UI"

    So I have to go to the services from manage, start Symantec Management Agent.

    This happen a lots of my users, We have about 1,800 machines in our enviroment.

    Anyone knows what is going on? why the service stop to running?

    I have found this on certain machines that have a bad install of the agent. Uninstalling the agent completely and reinstalling usually takes care of this issue.

    I've had this exact same thing show up when upgrading an x64 OS from the 7.0 (32 bit) client, to the 7.1 (64 bit) client.

    The only fix was to clean and reinstall the agent.  Would have been nice if the actual upgrade policies would work, but they don't.
