Symantec management client service will not stay running
I have had a ticket open for over a week regarding this issue (case # 320-226-417). I have only received one call from a tech which was two week ago (Sep 29th). They keep updating the ticket that they will contact me but never do. I have e-mailed them several times with my phone number and times I can be reached. If this lack of support continues I will not be renewing support for this software. I am currently in the process of looking at other vendors.
I've have had this issue with SEP 11 MR4 (4014, 4202) and MR 5 (5002).
After installing on varies models of Dell laptops with no prior version of Symantec or any other AV software the Symantec management client service will not start up on reboot and will not stay running if started manually. I have over 60 machines with the software installed with 13 machines having this problem. They are Windows XP SP3 with the latest patches, 30 days and earlier. I have already sent the tech the debug.log file.
I turned debugging logs on and found this in the debug.log file after manually starting the Symantec management client service:

I have attached the entire log.
I have been able to install the unmanaged client on some of these trouble machines but some still fail to start the service or stay running. I've installed the client using the migration wizard, find unmanaged computers console and running the install from an exported package. They all fail on the machines as previously described.

Is there any similar software
Is there any similar software on these PC that aren't on the other pc?
Remove the NTP(Network threat
Remove the NTP(Network threat protection) component and see whether service runs properly...

They have the same software,
They have the same software, though the drivers may vary. They are models m90, m1210, m4300 and m6300. We have other machines of similar models that work fine.
The NTP service was not installed. Only the Antivirus/Antispyware and Proactive Threat Protection was installed.
I have uninstalled and used fresh images with no luck. Each model has its own image which was used on all of the machines, working and not working.
Check permissions on the key:
Check permissions on the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SMC
Might help actually.
De facto when AV does something, it starts jumping up and down, waving its arms, and shouting "Hey! I found a virus! Look at me! I'm soooo goooood!"
There's nothing unusual about
There's nothing unusual about the permissions. They are the same as a functioning systems settings.

Okay. Why I said that was 'cause this thread had the same issue though unconvincing solution.

You can try testsec as well.
