Can anybody tell me how I can change the IIS and SSL settings for SMP version 7.1.66.

I have lot's of issues with the SSL settings but can't find how to set the agents to connect to port 80 and not on 443.

Connecting on Altiris site via port 80 is not allowed :-(

    Thx, Stany.

I haven't tried this myself, but to start I'd try the following,

    1. Open up IIS Manager, and select the default website

    2. In the right hand pane, select SSL Settings from the right-hand pane

    3. In the SSL Settings, take off "Require SSL"

I think this setting will propagate down. But check the sites underneath just confirm.

    4. I think you might then need to check that the agents are not using SSL. The only way I can think of doing this is by ensuring the agents are connecting using HTTP rather than HTTPS. This can be configured through the alternate URL in the agent settings

So, check the box, and ensure you are set to HTTP here.

    5. Repeat the above step for the other target Symantec Management Platform agent settings.

Please backup the server before you try any of this... ;-)

Would also be interested in seeing how others would tackle this.

    Kind Regards,
    Ian./

Test a redirection to your HTTP port before you point all of your clients to the new port, and point all of your clients to the HTTP port before you disable HTTPS.  If you disable HTTPS prior to moving them over using the alternate URL Ian shared above, they won't be able to communicate to the NS on 443, and therefore will not get the new HTTP port setting.

I thought the only way to undo this was to redirect the agents to an alternate URL, remove the SSL cert from IIS and then reinstall NS.
