Symantec Management Solution Agent Issues
Created: 16 Jan 2013 | Updated: 17 Jan 2013 | 2 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.
I have a few machines that when I try to push a software package, NS 7.1 SP2 tells me the machine either does not have the Management Solution Agent installed or there is not enough licenses. I reinstalled all the agents on this machine a few times, but the issue never gets resolved. Has anyone seen this. I have a few computers that have the same issue.
Thanks.

If you check your licenses in SIM on the Notification Server, are any expired or exceeded? This would cause the problem you're describing.
Additionally, to push a software package using a Software Quick Delivery task, the Software Management Solution plug-in must be installed. Is this plug-in installed? If not, you may need to enable it at Settings > All Settings, then select Settings > Agents/Plug-ins > Software > Software Management > Software Management Solution Plug-in Install policy.

Hey mclemson, we have exhausted our licenses, time for some cleanup! The plugin is installed so not a plugin issue.
Thanks!
