Symantec Messaging Gateway Alert Notification

Dear Brightmail experts

 

I would like to share one important thing with you.

We have been getting the followining alets notification from Symantec Messaging Gateway

The system detected 972 viruses in the past 1 day. 

Virus: 67

Worms: 76

Encrypted attachment: 0

Unscannable attachment: 354

Suspect Virus: 475

Malware: 0

How will know or how will get details about virus infected PCs or IPs from Messaging Gateway.

If there is a any way to find out kindly share

Symantec Messaging Gateway is a "Gateway" device

Hi Ashraf,

As the name implies, Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG) is a "gateway" device, it would not know about the infected "endpoints" in your environment unless they are communicating directly with it.

You might be able to get an idea by running the Virus:Top Senders or Virus:Top Sender IP Connections reports.
