    Hello All,

I recently upgraded Symantec protection engine 7. to 7.5 since then i have a issue.  I keep getting error " through ssecls it says unable to connect to Symantec protection engine " i am using a proxy which has user name and password. This use to work with 7.  Strangely if i remove the contents from liveupdate.xml then it’s working.

Any Suggestion would be of great help.

When you have your liveupdate.xml file contents, is the symcscan process really running? Do you have /opt/SYMCScan/SymantecProtectionEngineAbortLog.txt file, assuming your running Linux, and does it show any kind of errors? Regards, Haro

I may know the reason for your issue, now. From SPE 7.5, you need encrypt your proxy password with AES 256-bit. Do something like the following commands: cd /opt/SYMCScan/bin ./xmlmodifier -k /liveupdate/updateserver/proxypassword/@value "your passwd" /opt/SYMCScan/bin liveupdate.xml Then restart your symcscan service. Hope this helps, Haro
