Hi I have downloaded the evaluation version of the latest Symantec Protection Engine and attempted to install it on Windows 2008 R2. However, I am unable to complete the installation successfully.

I encountered an issue during installation. I keep getting

Error 1720.There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

I have tried all sorts of ways (compliments of Google) but to no avail.

Can someone kindly advice? I have spent one day attempting to install this.
