    Morning all,

I'm after some help with the design of a solution for the protection of SharePoint. I know that the product is licensed by the number of users but I have a couple of questions with regards to architecting that aren't answered by any of the documentation:

    • Is there a limit to the number of sharepoint servers a scan engine can scan?
    • Is the product only 32bit? Find this a little surprising nowadays!

Any help as always would be appreciated.

    Tim

The limit depends on your license but you can be licensed for up to 'x' amount of servers to scan.

I have not seen this limitation. I know Symantec Protection for SharePoint runs on 64bit Office SharePoint Server 2013.

    Brian,

I believe the license is dependent on the number of users and not the number of servers to scan? We have 7 sharepoint servers for protection, can I realisticly do this with a single scan engine?

Maybe my question wasn't asked correctly, I meant the Protection Engine is 32bit as I understand it which gives memory limitations hence the question around the number of servers to scan engines?

    Thanks,

    Tim
