    Posted Feb 20, 2014 05:49 AM

    Hi

I generated reports for failed installation but when i checked few of those machines i found out that those machines are ok and updated, so why the reports are not accurate, and that is causing a critical issue for me as i am not sure now which installation failed and which installation was successfful.

Best thing is to put a Unamanged detector , it wil tell you which machines have SEP installed and which do not

SEP 12.1 - What does it mean to set a client as an Unmanaged Detector?

The issue is not the machines which does not have symantec and that can be known by unmanaged detector, the issue the machines which i deplyed symantec and it failed so i need to check the reson to fix it and deploy SEP again.

Depoloyment report, will give you the status of package pushed from SEPM to client. Success/Failure.

It will not give report about installation, succeded or failed.

Push deployment will fail if windows firewall is On or admin share disabled.

What is exact version of SEP and what is the OS of the client?

Check this KBA to ensure you meet the requirements:

Preparing Windows operating systems for remote deployment

Rafeeq, as i mentioned before the issue is not the report itself, the issue that the report is not accurate which means when i check the report i find that machine A has failed the installation but when i check the machine i find it ok as SEP is installed and updated, so why the reports are not accurate that is my questiona and i am talking about Home ---- reports.

    Thnx

on machine A, check the %temp% folder for CLT_inst folder, when was this created? as time as when you tried the push?

SEP_Inst.log file will also show when client got installed... both at the same time?

The system is not imaged, we removed SEP on some of the servers but still show in SEPM console, i am looking for accurate information for all machines, is there any thing which i have to do on SEPM or on SQL DB.

Some of those machines are online and some are not, the machines which are not online should show offline and the one which have SEP removed from their should not be shown but it still there.
