Created: 08 Oct 2012 | 3 comments
Hi Community,
If the sacn engine is crashed or forcefully stopped, need to know the log file location which stores that information.
OS: Solaris
product: Symantec Scan Engine 5.2

Hi Pete.
Thanks for the info, i have already gone thorugh that and not able to find the answers thats why i hav put it in the forum.
There is only one log file configuration(pot/SYMCScan/log) which is set to warning but it doesnt capture the start and stop /crash info of the Scan Engine.
Need to know how it can be captured.
Regards,
Raj
To be frank, you shouldn't trust a process to be able to document it's own crash event. You are best off monitoring /var/adm/messages for a crash event. You can also turn on snmp logging and monitor it that way.
I am curious which version you are on. Scan Engine 5.2.13 and up are pretty stable. I haven't seen reports of any crashing issues.
