i need help for installing symantec secondary server.....
plz help....
plz give the steps for installing symantec secondary server as well as configuration steps....

from th e installation guide

Install the Symantec System Center
■ Install Symantec AntiVirus management server to the computer that you want
to designate as the primary management server.
■ Promote Symantec AntiVirus management server to the primary management
server through the Symantec System Center.
■ Back up the server group root certificate.
■ Install secondary management servers from the Symantec System Center.
■ Configure server group.
■ Install Symantec AntiVirus client software.

 

Please refer the installation guide.

or
Symantec endpoint protection

there is no secondary server in SEPM. You can install another SEPM and add as an replication partner.

Secondary would have been nice!

Let me explain why - We have about 3600 machines and 250 + servers.  10 of our servers are on the edge (outside).  I need to manage the servers outside and roll the report into my main site.  The only way I see to do this in SEPM is to replicate the data on the management server outside with the SEPM inside.

If there was a secondary server that forwarded the information from the machines I'm managing outside - remember there are only 10-15 of these, then I could send that information to my primary site instead of having to replicate the whole thing.

Any better ways???
