This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi,

When i load the symantec security it tells me theres an update to version 6.0.8.262, i cant locate this download from the link provided. Is this avaiable yet or is the website not up to date?. Ive sent in an email but the case has disapeared out of my open case this morning and i havent received a reply. I just need to know if this update has been released or will be released later on in the month

Hello Jabba,

Are you using Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange? If that is the case, this would be the wrong forum, but since I am close to that team I will see what I can find out.

Our latest versions as of right now are:

Symantec Brightmail Gateway: 7.7.0-15

Symantec Brightmail Message Filter: 6.1

Symantec Mail Security for SMTP: 5.0.1 P200

That is of right now. These are subject to change. I will see if we may want to put up a sticky post on newest versions as that would be a pretty good idea.

Hi TomC,

Sorry for getting the wrong forum, thought this said symantec mail security

anyway when i start it says the version i can get is 6.0.8.262, im currently on 6.0.7.253. Just curious to why it shows within the program thats theres an update but cant find it.

Hello Again,

So 6.0.8 is supposed to release possibly as soon as today so this might be why you are seeing this. If you want to get this version I would assume you could go to FileConnect and download the latest version. I'm not familiar with Mail Security for Exchange so I don't know if you can update through the UI.

Also, I forgot to mention in my last post:

Symantec Brightmail Traffic Shaper: 5.5.0-2

thanks,

im off till monday now so just wanted to get it sorted before i left the office today, it will have to wait till next week now. last time i updated it was thru the program. theres a link thats takes me to the site to download the file.
