Hello everyone , Now we know that Symantec has retired their STS certifications and replaced it with SCS , as of October 3. I just want to know that partners who have already done STS certificatins for solutions , are they gonna automatically upgraded to SCS or they have to take the SCS exam again ?

    Thanks

According to the Secure One FAQ:

Why did Symantec decide to change STS and introduce SCS?

Our goal is to simplify the certification requirement for partners in deciding whether to get STS certified for program qualification or SCS certified for industry recognition. Under Secure One, partners can take a single test to meet both goals under a unified certification program. Symantec will continue to recognize current STS accreditations for purposes of assessing Secure One status. SCS will become the new certification requirement in Secure One.

So you get to keep what you have, but I believe this means you'll have to requalify in the future.

    Hello Everyone,

I have an update for you.

Why has Symantec decided to retire the Symantec Technical Specialist (STS) accreditation program?
STS was only recognized for SPP status and benefits. Many partners told us they were pursuing STS for partner program status and Symantec Certified Specialist (SCS) for industry certification. In order to reduce exam time for our partners, we are choosing SCS as the common standard.

Will current STS accreditations become SCS certifications?
Secure One will not migrate previously granted STS to SCS equivalence. However, previously held STS will continue to be recognized for Secure One status until they expire. Once the STS has expired, partners will then need to take the SCS exam.
