    Posted Jun 28, 2012 09:47 PM

    Hello Guys,

I have a client with about 2000+ devices on it. Recently I tried opening Symantec system center and it did not open, it started its process (mmc.exe), but nothing happens.

I am not sure if i should repair it, with the thought that it might need a reboot.

    Version: 10.1.8000.8

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

    Sylvin

thats the thing, there is no error.

I click start - synantec system center, and then there is nothing, no error, no hourglass.

However the service mmc.exe shows in the taskmanager processes.

    Hello,

I believe a simple restart would help.

In your case, I would not recommend repairing the Symantec System Center to be the First steps of Troubleshooting.

However, if that does not help, then you could try repairing the Symantec System Center (SSC) from add remove Programs.

NOTE: Repair of SSC does not require a reboot.

Secondly, On a Kind Note -  I would recommend you to Migrate to SEP 12.1 as SAV 10.x is nearing the End of Support Life.

    Check this Featured Article:

Be Aware: The Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 10.x and Symantec Client Security 3.x End of Support life is July 4, 2012

    Hope that helps!!!

The server was restarted, that fixed it! And yes the upgrade is ongoing, should finish before EOL for SAV!:)

    Thanks all for your help!
