This issue has been solved. See solution.

We are running SSR 2011 on Server 2008 R2.

Sometimes, but not always, a few seconds/minutes after a job starts the server freeze and need to be hard crash in order to come back to life.

Looking at the Event Viewer i see this massage:

"Unexpected failure. Error code: 490@01010004"

Searching a bit online, its seems to be related to Hyper V or all kind of Virtual Drives software.

We don't use Hyper V and we don't use any virtual drive software.

Our SSR 2011 is on version which seems to be the latest version.

Any idea what might be causing it?

There is already SP 3 for SSR 2011 so you might update your installation. In BESR 2010 there was a bug related to Hyper-V:
