symantec system recovery 2013 network issues ip address configuration

Created: 15 Jul 2013 • Updated: 15 Jul 2013 | 4 comments

I'm having serious issue in Symantec system recovery 2013 n regards to network ip address configuration.

have successfully reboot the HP DL 360 G7 server with the network support (Broadcom BCM 5709 netXtreme II NDIS VBD Client). This server has got pNIC with 4x ports but with just one network cable plugged in with no DHCP in the production network.

the problem is that cannot statically assign IP address with the same IP address, Subnet and Gateway + DNS servers as the server that I'm about to restore.

Everytime I have finished configuring the static IP on Broadcom Interface 1, the IP config VIEW result always shows APIPA 169.254 IP addressing ?

I'm using 64 bit SRD and before I reboot the server, I have checked the driver in the CD they are all current and installed (as per the Driver Verification process).

How about using the NETSH command to set the address?

http://www.petri.co.il/configure_tcp_ip_from_cmd.htm

Does it work?

not too sure why I cannot get the IP address.

Have you/can you try using NETSH to see if it works?
