    symantec user session error is coming after installation of SEP MU5 on windows 7 professional

    start-run
    msiconfig
    startup , check for symantec it should be ccapp.exe
    uncheck ccapp.exe reboot the box, all is well :)

    You can resolve this issue by doing the following: 
     
    Stop the Symantec Endpoint Protection, Symantec Event Manager and Symantec Management  Client Services
    Delete the Settings.bat and Settings.dat files
    Perform a repair of the installation. This can be done in Control Panel under Add/Remove Programs and selecting the Symantec Endpoint Protection entry. Clicking on Change will pull up the Program Maintenence Wizard. Click the Next button and select Repair. 
    Once the repair is complete, restart the computer and verify the error is no longer encountered.

    For Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP:  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Common Client
     
    For Windows Vista and Server 2008: C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Common Client
