Hi, 

We not able update firefox Version 31 to firefox 32 due to Symantec Vulnerability Protection add-on. Once i disable the addon and i am able to download update and Firfox get updated. 

I there a way I can add Exceptions for download?? If that not possible 

Is there a way I can disable Add-on from SEPM Console ??

You should be able to download firefox, the add-on won't stop it. But it's not compatible so it's disabled automatically in firefox.

There is no option to add an exception.

Just uncheck it in the IPS policy. "Enable Browser Intrusion Prevention for Windows". Uncheck this.

But again, the incompatibility shouldn't actually stop the download. I have ff 32 running with the browser add on installed. It just gets disabled

Actually the add-on is still compatible with FF 32 but no more with 32.0.1...

By the way, has Symantec a plan to fix it? (I remind you that previous incompatibility lasted months...)

First disable the add on and update firefox , Note: without browser intrusion prevention you system will be vulnerable.

It tends to get corrected but takes some time

I wonder what is the worst : staying in FF 32 with the add-on or update FF without...

SEP 12.1/5 is due out in October.

Since this version of FF is not supported, you can use Internet Explorer if you're uncomfortable until support for the latest FF comes out.

SEPM 12.1 RU5 is release for english version support.

I want to tell my end users to update their Firefox browser, but I've been advising against it while Symantec gets blocked from running in the browser.

Anyone from Symantec is taking a look at this issue?

As written in other posts we have been blocking users from updating. Can you give us a date?

 

 

Any news ? Today i running Mozilla 32.0.3 and Symantec Vulnerability Protection 12.3.0.3 is still inactive and cannot be activated.
