The Web Gateway version 5 will introduce the ability to scan https traffic.

when will symantec web gateway version 5 be launched.
you mean symantec web gateway 4.5 does not scan https traffic. if you know any document kindly let me know for reference to our client.
The Symantec Web Gateway V5 is due to be released near the end of the year however the date is subject to change.
Yes, the Web Gateway v4.5 can not scan https traffic. The only thing it can currently do is allow, block, or monitor access to all https/ssl traffic using the Application Control module.

Kevin
Thanks buddy,,,,,,,
any Kb or article ?
dear KevK,
Kindly guide me further in detail.
what is differen between scan and allow ,block, monitor.
Actually sorry, after rereading, maybe what you want to do is currently available with the Application Control module if you are just looking to Block or Monitor all SSL/HTTPS traffic on a per policy basis.
The big thing we can't do now is scan uploads or downloads from https sites.
So Allow let's the traffic through without logging at all, Monitoring allows it through but logs that it is seeing https traffic(it doesn't log the sites being accessed), Block(blocks the https traffic).
Found this doc, but it doesn't reallly refer to what's available using Application Control:
